The study focuses on the study of counts of Gorizia in relation to Trieste. The counts of Gorizia were the most important neighbor of Trieste. They were the master of Karst and they repeatedly intervened in the decisive events in Trieste - either as podesta or as an important political and military power, in which carriers of the city autonomy of Trieste (city patriciate, as well as Bishop) were looking for help and support from aggressive Venice. Venice have tried to submit the city.
