1.
Morphological analysis of surface with geographic information systems

The number of methods and indicators for determination, analysis and classification of surface morphological units at different scales has strongly increased with the development of geographic information system. In the article we present, compare and evaluate some of the most important methods (the programes LANDSERF, SAGA and TAS were used), which were tested in example areas with different relief in Slovenia.

2.
Suitability of Hammond's method for determining landform units in Slovenia

Landform is often the most important factor in distinguishing between regions and an important element of geographic classification, typification, and regionalization; this is why morphological classification has had a long tradition in Slovenia and abroad. One of the best-known classifications was developed by the American geographer Edwin H. Hammond, who classified the landforms of the United States in great detail. Later on, his method was applied several times using a geographic information system and digital elevation model.

3.
Determination of landform units in Slovenia using adapted Hammond's method

One of the best-known morphological classifications was developed by the American geographer EdwinH.Hammond, who classified the surface of the United States in twenty-one landform units grouped intofive landform groups. Later on, his method was applied several times using ageographic information system and digital elevation model. Hammond's method of determining landform units has also been testedin Slovenia.

Determination of Slovenia's landforms using method of regional continuous classification

Landforms are often the most important factor in distinguishing between regions and an important element of geographic classification, typification, and regionalization; this is why morphological classification has had along tradition in Slovenia and abroad. The number of methods and indicators for determination, analysis and classification of surface morphological units at different scales has strongly increased with the development of geographic information system. With regard to spatial joining continuous and discontinuous classification could be distinguished.
