Acompaniment of concept development and early detection of misconceptions is an important part of physics education. Presented is a new method of acompaniment of students conceptions. The prerequisite for the application of the method is a grafical literacy.

The contribution gives study of conceptual understanding of density at different ages i.e. diferrent levels of education. Although the conceptual understanding increases, the number of people having strong and important misconceptions even after leaving hte higher secondary school, where for many of them was the last opportunity to meet the topic, is surprisingly high.
