The impact of fungicides on yeast biodivertisy in vineyard and cellar

Published scientific contribution on German wine-makers meeting with international participation entitled Intervitis-Interfructa , on which we have ahown the experimental results of the influence of chemical and biological vine protection and their influence on natural populations of grape berries together with their influence on the course and duration of wine fermentation. As an alternative method we have tested the biological protection of vine by wine yeasts. We have shown that Saccharomyces cerevisiae might be useful species as biological agent against phytopathogenic fungi.

Biodiversity in Slovenian wine regions: case of amino acids in spontaneous and induced fermentations of Malvasia

In this paper we presented a study on differences in amino acid composition of 14 musts/wines fermented with local or commercial starter yeasts, comparing all to the spontaneous fermentations of musts. The paper was presented as a plenary lecture on Scientific meeting on mycology in Serbia.

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)

The contribution in Encyclopedia of environmental health presents modern biotechnology which includes nucleic acid techniques in vitro, including recombinant DNA, direct injection of nucleic acids into cells or organelles, and cell merging which reaches above natural physiological reproductive barriers and techniques, which are not used in traditional multiplication and selection in agricultural practice recognized as genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Owing to considerable impact on technology and traditional food production, it gained great importance also in consumers.
