With precise estimation of the number of the follicle before punction and elective embryo transfer combined with more precise estimation of endometrial characteristics important improvement of ART can be obtained. Smaller number of embryos transfered in optimal endometrial enviroment do not interfered with the success of ART when in the same time the risk for multiple pregnancies is avoided.

However, few similar studies have been carried out in humans, and the conclusions from these were contradictory. Using sibling human oocytes, a prospective study was carried out to analyse the effect of 5 and 20% oxygen on prolonged development of embryos.
