J3-0259 — Final report
1.
The use of animals in biomedical research.

In history invertebrate and vertebrate models have been used in research to gain information on cell and organ anatomy, mechanisms of diseases, methods of prevention, behavioral research, for production, development, testing of drugs, food, cosmetic and other products, and to answer questions that are not possible to be gathered in humans. Although researchers are developing non-animal models, research on multigenic diseases and therapy testing require the use in vivo models. In an absence of human data, animal research can offer an accurate approximations and predictions.
