Organization of International conference

Two members of project consortium were involved in organization of 3rd International Clostridium difficile Symposium, held at Bled, Slovenia in september 2010. C. difficile infections in Maribor region

Presentation at the main slovenian symposium of infection disease specialists has desribed clinical and microbiological characteristics of C. difficile infections at University Clinical Centre Maribor. Two memebers of the project consortium were co-authors.

This invited lecture has covered description of transmittion routes, molecular epidemiology (distribution of ribotypes) and mechanisms involved in the development of symptoms in C. difficile-associated infections.

Invited lecture at the main European coference for clinical microbiology and infectious diseases (ECCMID) has covered the fields important for spread of bacterium C. difficile in hospital and other reservoirs and development of the infection.
