Monoamine neurotransmitters modulate NT-3 levels in astrocytes

In theinvited lecture the function of neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) in CNS was presented and the results of our study on cultured rat cortical astrocytes considering the regulation of NT-3 synthesis by monoaminergic neurotransmittors was showed in detail. Monoamines proved to be potent modulators of NT-3 production, acting specifically and depending on different receptor and intracellular signalling mechanisms.

Presence of bilitranslocase in the vascular system and its role in the vasodilatation activity of anthocyanins.

Flavonoids are well known for their vasodilatation activity, while their exact mechanism of action still remains to be elucidated. Recently, the expression of bilitranslocase in the endothelium has been characterized. Therefore, here we examined the possible role of bilitranslocase in the vasodilatation activity of flavonoids.
