Simulation of workpiece forming and centre displacement in plunge centreless grinding

Centerless grinding process can be more effective, flexible and more productive if parameters set-up times of the process are lowered. This goal can be achieved with development of the simulation model, which supports different set-up of the machining system. Analytical modeling of the centerless grinding process is described in the paper. Analytical model combine mechanism of the product shape formation together with dinamic influences and simulates product shape formation and center of the cylindrer movement.

Workpiece structure deformation caused by high speed cutting

The hard turning and grinding of High Speed Steel (HSS) materials with hardness of 61 HRC significantly changes structural properties. Estimators of the cutting conditions are surface roughness, dimensions, tolerances and required structure of the surface layer. Vacuum heat treatment of HSS for cold working applications was used as yielded material with greater toughness, while the hardness was maintained constant or even increased. HSS-BRM2 material that was vacuum quenched and tempered was machined.
