1.
Role and significance of cysteine cathepsins in different models of apoptosis : doctoral dissertation.

In this thesis a detailed description of the mechanism of apoptosis triggered by TNF-alpha and the role of lysosomal cathepsins are given, as well as the description of their role in apoptosis, induced by the lysosomotropic detergent LeuLeuOMe.

Proteases and protease signaling in cell death

An overview of protease signaling pathway in apoptosis was given with the emphasis on protease substrate identification. The results demonstrating that BCl-2 homologs are critical cysteine cathepsin substrates in apoptosis mediated by lysosomotropic detergents were also presented.
