Crystal structure of ionic compound between antiviral drug acyclovir and complex ruthenate(II).

We have presented the synthesis and crystal structure of novel ruthenium(II) complex with acyclovir where linear bonding of additional ligand nitrosyl was observed.

Electroporation increases cytotoxic activity of ruthenium anticancer compounds.

It was established in preliminary experiments that combination of electroporation and certain ruthenium compounds increases the cytotoxic activity. In our experiments two ruthenium compounds were used (isolated in the labs of Prof. B.K. Keppler)- one of them is already used in clinical trials. Results have been presented at a conference in Kranjska gora (5th Conference on Experimental and Translational Oncology).
