Corrosion behaviour of sputter-deposited Al-xTa coatings on Al-alloys

In the study the preparation and characterisation of Al-Ta coating on the aluminium substrate is presented. Results showed the improve corrosion resistance of aluminium substrate from one to two orders of magnitude.Microstructure can be modifided by additing different volume procent of element Ta in the coating.

Development of TiAlN and carbon based(a-CN) coatings and introduced them into production

We have developed a coating based on TiAlN and amorphous carbon (a-CN), which are appropriate to protect tools in the pharmaceutical industry for making tablets. TiAlN-based coatings and carbon (a-CN) on the the steel substrate (OCR12VM) were prepared. Initially, electrochemical process protection with a hard chrome, were used for this purpose. From ecological reasons, it is now being replaced by hard-PVD coatings.
