Young parenthood, agency and social change – final report

In 2006-2009 Metka Kuhar (besides Mirjana Ule) has been a national coordinator of the EU-funded international research project Up2youth: Youth – actor of social change. This project was concerned with the agency of young people in the context of social change (in the fields: transition to parenthood, work and participation), also the role of relationships with parents.

Seminar on Youth Policy in South-East Europe: seminar preparation, invited lecture and final report

The reference is a final report of the seminar on the state of youth and youth policies in South-East Europe organized by the Partnership of European Commission and Council of Europe on the youth field. I contributed also to preparation of contents and leading the seminar. In invited speech I presented a part of the results from the research project, because family networks have an extremely important support role in the region.

Communication, relationships and child-rearing in Slovenian families with young people

The references – the invited lecture with presentation of results of this research and discussion contribution (article) on the webpage of the Slovenian Information office of the Council of Europe – are in the framework of my contribution at promoting of campaign on positive parenting and against corporal punishment of children run by the Information office of the Council of Europe and preparation of Law for enforcement prohibition of corporal punishment of children.

Youth policy in Latvia: conclusions of the Council of Europe international review team

The reference is a final report on the evaluation of the state of youth and youth policies in Latvia. The report is produced after several country visits by international team organized by the Partnership of European Commission and Council of Europe on the youth field. I am a coauthor of the final report. One of the aims of international review process is advising on the development of youth policies in the region. In Latvia many suggestions have already been implemented.
