Z3-9403 — Final report
1.
Biochemistry for veterinary students.

The textbook describes chemical and physical basis of biochemical methods used in veterinary medicine in analytical, diagnostic and research purposes and is designed for veterinary students as well as for all "non-chemists" who encounter biochemistry in their everyday laboratory practice or in fieldwork.

2.
Recombinant human erythropoietin - signal transduction in breast cancer cells.

We investigated how the treatment of anemia with rHuEpo/transfusion affects the properties of tumor cells in breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and to investigate the signal transduction of rHuEpo in cancer cells.

3.
Molecular mechanism of recombinant human erythropoietin action on cancer cells.

We studied transfer of the Epo signal in signaling pathways and attempted to elucidate the action of rHuEpo on cancerous cells on the molecular level.

4.
Recombinant human erythropoietin induced changes in signal transduction and gene expression in breast cancer patients.

The effect of rHuEPO/transfusion on global gene expression in cancer cells was studied by the use of human whole-genome oligonucleotide micro arrays and real-time PCR.
