Beović B, Kreft S, Seme K, Cizman M. Does use of ertapenem influence carbapenem resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa?

Consumption of carbapenem antibiotics in Defined Daily Doses per patient-days and susceptibility of P. aeruginosa to carbapenems were recorded on monthly basis in three departments. Authors concluded that ertapenem may be related to the development of P. aeruginosa strains resistant to carbapenems.
