Testosterone-related shortening of QTc interval in women with polycystic ovary syndrome.

In women with polycystic ovaries (PCO) the shortening of QTc interval is testosterone-related. The women with PCO have increased testosterone levels and a shorter QTc interval with testosterone acting as a protector against potential cardiovascular diseases, in spite of the presence of other risk factors characteristic of PCO.

Hypergonadotropic amenorrhea and pregnancy.

Identification of a subgroup of women with idiopathic hypergonadotropic amenorrhea in whom genetic and iatrogenic factors have been ruled out. Based on the findings of autoimmune and hormone tests, the appropriate treatment in these women should result to the improvement of ovarian function.
