1.
Comparing several approaches to the PID control design

The paper presents comparison of different tuning methods for PID controllers. One of the most interesting methods does not include explicit integrator in the closed-loop configuration, but implicitly through the filter from the process output. This solution elegantly solves anti-windup protection, which is important in practice due to reduced settling time.

2.
Environment for tuning of a fuzzy-parameter-scheduling PID controller

The paper presents the control environment for tuning PID controllers with fuzzy parameter scheduling. It supports control engineer/operator in tuning controller for non-linear industrial processes. The environment automatically tunes local controllers, while user can interact in all the tuning phases.

3.
Testing of tuning algorithms on pilot process

The report shows measurements and testing of advanced control methods in Color Medvode. The measurements were performed on delayed process in order to compare responses of different controllers (including predictors). The results showed that predictive controllers, on such processes, can be used more efficiently.

4.
Testing of equalisation method

The report is testing the equalisation method on several process models and on about ten laboratory set-ups. The tested processes cover wide spectrum of industrial processes. Results of experiments showed high efficiency of the method also for non-linear and noisy processes. The advantage of the method is that it is very simple for implementation in practice and that the closed-loop response is implicitly defined by the experiment.

Reducing oscillations in a control system

The patent describes a procedure for reducing oscillations in control systems, where only controller output signal is available. Such system can be used inside actuators. The efficiency of the solution has been tested in a laboratory and on a test-bench in Danfoss Trata, d.o.o.
