Preparation of the Bologna-shaped interdisciplinary Masters study of cognitive science at the University of Ljubljana.

The aim of the study is the education of a) scholars in the field of cognitive science as the autonomous science, b) sholars who can connect different fields of research in interdisciplinary projects, and c) sholars who can synthesize findings in cognitive science and apply them to different fields (e.g. in collaborative teaching).

The book offers the information on study and research in the field of cognitive science in Ljubljana. It gives necessary information on the interdisciplinary joint study of cognitive science at the Ljubljana University. Invited lecture of S. Tancig and U. Kordeš at the RISC Workshop organized by the University of Ljubljana held at 11th of January 2008 in Ljubljana.

The authors present the basic principles and some practical rules of interdisciplinary collaborative research (and teaching). Collaborative research is distinguished from cooperative, interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary research. The authors point out the key critical demands for collaborative research and teaching and certain strategies for establishing optimal environment and computer support.
