The syndrome of cardiac failure in adults with congenitally corrected transposition.

In corrected transposition of large vessles morfologic right ventricle has a function of left ventricle and pumps blood in ystemic circulation. We follow the naturel development of heart failure in the patients and try to find out the prediction parameters of advancing of HF.

Levosimendan improves renal function in patients with advanced chronic heart failure awaiting cardiac transplantation.

Long-term impact of levosimendan on renal function remains undefined. Prospectively, we evaluated effects of levosimendan on renal function in patients with advanced chronic heart failure awaiting cardiac transplantation. Levosimendan improves long-term renal function in advanced chronic heart failure patients awaiting cardiac transplantation.

End-organ function in patients on long-term circulatory support with continuous- or pulsatile-flow assist devices.

Limited data exist about the long-term effects of continuous-flow vs pulsatile-flow left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) on end-organ function. On the basis of these data, it appears that continuous- and pulsatile-type LVADs provide adequate blood flow to maintain proper end-organ function during prolonged circulatory support.

Cardiac toxicity of high-dose cyclophosphamide in patients with multiple myeloma undergoing autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

In patients treated with autologus hematopoetic stem cell transplantation the treatment with cyclosporin may couse LV heart failure and development of dyastolic dysfunction. ACE inhibitor tratment may slow down the process.

Trimetazidine shortens QTc interval in patients with ischemic heart failure

In ischemic advanced heart failure arrhytmias are one of the most important stimulus for vorsening of LV performance. Trimetazidine lower oxygen consumption and improves repolarization characteristics of heart muscele. In our study arrhytmogenic potencial of the heart was lowered.
