Participation in international synthetic biology competition (iGEM)

Members of the project group have provided experimental training (cell culture, production and characterization of proteins and protein nanoparticles) for students of University of Ljubljana in international synthetic biology competition This contributed to the recognition of Slovenian science around the world. For these successes iGEM Team Slovenia was nominated for World Technology Award 2010.

Participation in education

Three members of the project group participate in undergraduate or graduate studies at University of Ljubljana. One PhD thesis connected to this project has been defended in 2008, additionally two PhD students are still working with PhD defense expected in 2010 and 2011.
