Analysis .. of an axial piston pump using DLC-coated piston shoes and biodegradable oil.

Paper deals with the DLC coatings used on piston shoes under real scale conditions. We do not present mechanisms, but an important practical property: long term performance under real scale and realistic opearting conditions. Results indicate a great potential of this system.

In an international journal we present a review of lubrciating mechanims presented for DLC coatings with oils and additives. We analyse those presented by others and emphasise our own research.
