Novel form of a benzenesulfonamide derivative

In collaboration with Pliva d.d., Zagreb, we developed a new key-step for the synthesis of the antiasthmatic drug, montelucast. Using our laboratory developed chiral ruthenium-based transfer hydrogenation catalyst, we obtained a key-intermediate in 99% enantiomeric excess and in >99% chemical purity.

Process for the preparation of ezetimibe and derivatives thereof

In collaboration with Krka d.d., Novo mesto, we developed a new key-step for the synthesis of the anticholesterolemic drug ezetimib. Using our laboratory developed chiral ruthenium-based transfer hydrogenation catalyst we obtained a key-intermediate in high enantiomeric excess and chemical purity.

Preparation of duloxetine and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts by the use of asymmetric hydrogenation process.

: In collaboration with Krka Pharmaceuticals, Novo mesto, we developed a chemical process for the preparation of duloxetine, an antidepressant drug. Using our laboratory developed chiral ruthenium-based transfer hydrogenation catalyst, the product was prepared in high enantiomeric and chemical purity.

New trinem antibiotics and inhibitors of beta-lactamases

In collaboration with Lek Pharmaceuticals, Ljubljana, several new fluorine-containing trinems were prepared which displayed broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.
