Rezultats of an experiment with which we have investigated a module of silicon photomultipliers as detectors of single photons in a test beam. A novel light collection system considerably improves the efficiency and the signa-to-noise ratio.

A comparison of two irradiation therapies with intensity-modulated x-rays or protons, by using functional or molecular imaging data from a PET scanner

By using functional and molecular imaging data from a PET scanner, a comparison was carried out of two irradiation therapies, with intensity-modulated x-rays and with an intensity modulated proton beam. The proton therapy showed a clear advantage regarding the damage to neighbouring tissue.
