1945 - Break Up between the Old and the New : the End of the WW II in the History of C. E. Countries/Scientific Conference, Ljubljana, 29. - 30.9.2005

The conference featured lectures held by historians from Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Slovenia. The issues of the nature and form of the resistance movement and collaboration during WW II in CE, the Nazi ethnic transformation of South-Eastern and CE during WW II, retribution against war criminals and collaborators after the war and intensity in the implementation of political and socioeconomic changes emerging in CE after the war were discussed at the conference.

Furthermore, the magazine provides continuous expert criticism, monitoring and evaluation of research dynamics in contemporary history.

Prebilič, Vladimir: Logistics in the German Armed Forces During the WW II, PhD Thesis Ljubljana: 2004. Mentor Damijan Guštin, PhD, Assistant Professor

The thesis analyses the question of military logistics by integrating the specific problem in a historical dimension or, more precisely, in the period when German Armed Forces were in the process of establishment and then put in operation, which was from 1933-45. On the historical example of Germany and German Armed Forces, the thesis reveals the significance and role of logistics in the military system of defence and represents one of the rare papers in Slovene history which study general world subjects through the application of archived material and a thorough study of foreign literature.

The content of the programme is historical analysis of key ideological, political and cultural processes and military events, which marked the life of the Slovene nation in the 20th century as the most intense period in Slovene contemporary history. The finding based on the implementation of the programme provide answers to questions related about the civilisation point of national existence and his development perspective.
