All, 10th EASA Conference 2008: Experiencing Diversity and Mutuality

The tenth bienneal conference of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (Easa) was the most important and the largest conference of this kind ever organised in Slovenia with more than 1100 participants. Between 26 and 30 August, 2008, Ljubljana was the centre of the European social anthropology.

Rajko Muršič and Božidar Jezernik, 2004-2008, EU-wide monitoring methods and systems of surveillance for species and habitats of Community interest.

Two members of the programme group participated and coordinated the project of support to biological researchers in preparation of the overall European overview of the existing monitoring schemes for species and habitats with reccomendations for the best and the most efficient monitoring shemes.

Bojan Baskar, 2005-2008. RAMSES2: Euro-Mediterranean Network of Excellence of Research Centers in Humanities, Sixth EU Framework.

One member of the team has been member of the Ramses2 Executive Committee (2005-2008) and the coordinator of Ramses2 Summer Schools (2005-2007). The group run the decentralised office for South-East Europe in Ljubljana (2005-2007). Seven our researchers and junior researchers have actively participated at various conferences and summer schools.

All, CREOLE: Cultural Differences and Transnational Processes. Socrates/Erasmus programme for a joint degree in social anthropology.

According to all the participating institutions, the programme significantly extends existing cooperation in the area of student and teacher mobility, it constitutes a commitment for a long-lasting cooperation and thus intensifies and improves transnational education in the field of social and cultural anthropology.

Božidar Jezernik and Jože Hudales, Slovenian Bourgeoise from the Awakening of the Nation to Nationalisation (1848-1948).

The project Slovenian bourgeoise from the awakening of the nation to nationalisation (1848-1948) consists of an exhibition, on display in the Museum of contemporary history in Ljubljana, and an extensive catalogue. The project was initiated by Božidar Jezernik and carried out under supervision of the museologist Jože Hudales and represents a collective work of the members of ther Department of ethnology and cultural anthropology at the Faculty of Arts and Slovenian museums.
