Slovene-German bilingual scientific monography

M. Bizjak edited with exceptional scrupulousness and precision the echoing and abundant bilingual monographic memorial miscellany. It comprises supplemented papers–articles with the necessary scientific apparatus, presented at the international scientific conference on the bicentenary of secularisation of the Freising and Brixen diocesan property on Slovene territory. The contributions embrace the 800 years long period of the Freising and Brixen presence on Slovene territory . The miscellany is dedicated to Pavle Blaznik.

Organization of a section at international congress

M. Bizjak and M. Kosi took part in July 2004 in the Intern. Medieval Congress (Leeds, England) which takes place every year and is with over 1100 participants from all over the world one of the largest such meetings. The frame theme of the congress was Confrontation of Civilisations where they prepared in cooperation with Tomaž Nabergoj from the National museum in Ljubljana the section Changes in society: The origin of feudal estates of Bavarian dioceses in the south-east of the German empire from the 10th-13th centuries with three lectures, which evoke considerable response and discussion.

Guest professor at a foreign university

Stane Granda was in the year 2004 in the summer semester and per invitation of the Karl-Franzens-Universität guest professor at the Department of Slavistics of the mentioned university. Title of subject: Cultural history of Slovenes. He conveyed the programme research findings to the international – Austrian university public.

Paper at an international scientific conference

A wide response meeting paper at an international scientific conference. The contribution deals with the province of Styria in the 18th century with emphasis on ethnic-language changes that were most evident in town environments. The achievement is intended for the affirmation of Slovene identity in ethnically mixed environment of Styrian towns. It is significant not only for experts and connoisseurs but as well for a broader Slovene and foreign public. The requested paper was presented at an international conference in the former capital of the historical province of Styria Graz (Austria).
