Articla analyses the reasons and consequences of Slovenia's gradualist approach to transition process. It claims that gradualist approach provided positive results in the early phase of transition process, but then gradually led to the slowing down and postponement of necessary reforms, whart resulted in the deterioration of economic trends.

It is based on analysis of 70 parliamentary insitutions all over the world and concentrates on potentials of inter-parliamentary cooperation for parlamentarians from small countries.

Exploiting ICT potential in service firms in transition economies

Atricle analyses effects of the use of information-communication technology (ICT) on productivity of service firms. With econometric analysis, based on individual firm level data for Slovenia, the authors show that use of ICT has statistically significant and positive impact on productivity of service firms.

Internationalization of small and medium-size enterprises from selected Central European economies

Article analyses processes of outward internationalisation of small and medium sized enterprises from transition countries. The biggest barriers to their internationalisation are limited financial and other capacities, while their main competitive advantages lie in technological and organisational flexibility, and closer ties with customers.

Globalisation and unequal global development

Globalisation can be explained only by the way of different theories and contingently upon history and actual circumstances. Globalisation is accompanied by increasing inequality, but the reasons for this inequality derive more from technological development than from liberalisation. Effects of globalisation greatly depend on strategies and policies of states, firms and other entities.
