S. Splichal was visting professor at the Annenberg School for Communication, Univ. of Pennsylvania, in the Spring 2006 semester.

Scholars invited to the Annenberg School for Communication under the auspices of the Scholars Program in Culture and Communication are renowned in their respective fields. Annenberg stands at the forefront of education, research and policy studies on the processes, nature, and consequences of existing and emerging media. Splichal taught a semster course for doctoral students.

Communication and Culture Colloquia

In the period 2004-2007, we organized three international colloquia on communication and culture chaired by Hanno Hardt and Slavko Splichal: Colloquium on Censorship and Democracy (April 2004), Colloquium on The MacBride Report—25 Years Later (September 2005), and Colloquium on Communication and Peace (September 2007).

Andrej Škerlep and Maruša Pušnik, President and Vice-president of the Slovenian communication association organized an international scholarly conference "No end of transition? Understanding changes in media landscape and public rhetoric of post-communist era" that was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia on March 14-15, 2008.

Marko Lah, visiting professor

Marko Lah was a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Trieste during December 2004 and January 2005 (one month) and at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade in March 2005 (one month). He lectured in the graduate and postgraduate programs on Slovenian economic path to European Union and Advertising.
