The topics of the monograph are modern society challenges and role of education, whilst europena policy and its impact on understanding of the role of education is not neglected. The monograph is looking for answers to the question, whether education is still important in knowledge society and what is the role of a subject in knowledge society. The monograph presents the changing concepts of education perception, it touches the issue of organisation and management in the field of upbringing and education and describes the society of the future.

Knowledge management audit in a higher educational institution: a case study

From the study presented in the article we can conclude that even if an institution is ‘academic’ in nature and apparently successful, this fact does not necessarily mean that KM processes are institutionalised within the organisation. From this point of view, a higher educational institution is likely to be subject to the same limitations as any other organisation in the knowledge business.

Causes of changes in agricultural employment in Slovenia: evidence from micro-data

Using econometric methods, this paper analyses determinants of labour adjustment and restructuring between agriculture, industry and service activities as well as labour flows into and out of employment from unemployment and retirement. Age, education and human capital investment are key factors, which can improve quality, mobility and labour flexibility, which is of a key importance for efficient labour adjustment on micro and sectoral level. More educated individuals are more likely to work in non-agricultural, especially in service activities.
