P3-0335 — Final report
1.
An experimental model of reproducible liver trauma.

A reproducible liver trauma model was introduced. We designed a model to cause a reproducible liver trauma: with a precisely directed crossbow and an arrow with a ball instead of a nib, which is shot towards a body in the liver area, we caused in the animal of the same weight (anesthetized pig) always the same type of injury (publication and lecture at a European congress). The importance lies in the possibility of further research of changes after injuries and by increasing the force and thus causing higher degree injuries.

Cardiac output measurements with electrical velocimetry in patients undergoing CABG surgery : a comparison with intermittent thermodilution.

The purpose of presented work was to study the agreement between cardiac output measurements with electrical velocimetry vs. intermittent thermodilution before and after coonary by-pass graft surgery. Memeber of research group prof.Kamenik was a corresponding author of the article.

Injuries of the inferior vena cava

Reconstruction of inferior vena cava injuries with PTFE prosthetic material was introduced. Presented surgical technique offers a survival chances to patients with potentially lethal injuries of major veins. Work was presented on 2006 European trauma congress in Ljubljana and published in congress book, cited in Current contents

4.
Clinicopathological and immunohistochemical markers after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer.

The aim of the study was to verify the classic clinicopathological prognostic factors of the expected survival in patients with gastric cancer and to verifiy prognostic value of immunohistochemical factors in gastric cancer patients after a potentially curative gastric resection.

Surgical treatment of portal hypertension due to portal vein thrombosis.

Original surgical technique was introduced in Slovenia to help patients with noncirrhotic portal hypertension and recurrent oesophageal variceal bleeding despite endoscopic sclerotherapy.
