Results of isotopic composition in the various marine organisms and POM

The results of the research of isotopic composition in the various marine organisms and particulate organic matter from coastal ecosystems show that d15N parameter is an excellent indicator of an heavy nitrogen input origined from anthropogenical source or fish farm activities. According to our data geochemical maps were carried out, which are appliable for monitoring waste water influence to coastal systems and fish farm influence on surrounding ecosystems. The results are also contribute to strategic planning of further mariculture activities as well as to environmental remediation plans.

The PIVO-2003 experiment: a GPS study of Istria peninsula and Adria microplate motion, and active tectonics in Slovenia

By using GPS measurements of site velocities in Istria, which is the only stable outcrop of the northern Adriatic microplate, we analyzed active kinematics of the microplate (Euler pole position) against Eurasia and calculated the rotation rate. According to our Euler pole location and rotation rate we predict N-S directed shortening at a rate of 2-3 mm/yr for the territory of Slovenia affected by Adria push. A preliminary analysis of GPS velocities in Slovenia and northern Croatia confirms our model.

Mineralogical analysis of renders from selected objects of Slovene cultural heritage

Analysed were samples of renders taken from selected objects of Slovene kultural heritage: Novo Celje manor house, Stična monastery and secession object from Ljubljana. The aim of the analysis was to determine their composition and properties and therefore conclude on their origine. Resultes of our investigation will improve the restoration of the objects in quality as well as authentics. Mineralogical analysis were made on indoor and outdoor renders by optical microscope in transmited polarised light, by X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscope.

Postopek za pripravo agregata zlasti iz odpadnih surovin in tako dobljen agregat

A pilote experiment of road paving was realised in the 2007 with the pavement where steel slag aggregate was used. The results can be found in the report published at the end of the project: Black steel slag as high quality aggregate in road construction (leader Triplat Acroni Jesenice - 2002-2005). In the year 2006 a new procedure and patent for preparing aggregate from the waste raw materials was constucted: P-2006 0 0249, Ljubljana, which will be used as aggregate for concrete constructions.

GENESIS, TRANSPORT IN ACCUMULATION OF COAL GASES.

Isotope and geochemical research plus sorption properties of coal gases in the coal mine Velenje were studied, which depend on active tectonic fault systems and their structure. Main topic of research was to connect the geochemical properties of gases with structural-tectonic properties with intention to build a knowledge database, usable for safer coal exploitation. We have established and proofed the significance of coal gases in the Velenje lignite.
