International legal assustance is cooperation between courts, where official acts for the purposes of civil litigation are carried out in the territory of a court of antoher state. The paper examines also the service of documents as an international legal assistance framework.

Article 42 of the ZNP-1 stipulates that the ZPP shall apply mutatis mutandis to all issues of procedure (ie also for service of documents) which are not regulated in the ZNP-1. The research group discussed the meaningful application of the provisions of the Civil Procedure Act (ZPP) in non-litigious proceedings in Slovenia.
