Research in psychology generates complex data and often requires unique statistical analyses. These tasks are often very specific, so appropriate statistical models and methods cannot be found in accessible Bayesian tools. As a result, the use of Bayesian methods is limited to researchers and students that have the technical and statistical fundamentals that are required for probabilistic programming. Such knowledge is not part of the typical psychology curriculum and is a difficult obstacle for psychology students and researchers to overcome. The goal of the bayes4psy package is to bridge this gap and offer a collection of models and methods to be used for analysing data that arises from psychological experiments and as a teaching tool for Bayesian statistics in psychology. The package contains the Bayesian t-test and bootstrapping along with models for analysing reaction times, success rates, and tasks utilizing colors as a response. It also provides the diagnostic, analytic and visualization tools for the modern Bayesian data analysis workflow.

COBISS.SI-ID: 14800387In the book, the authors substantiate a new approach, integrative psychotherapy focused on mindfulness and compassion, which represents the further development of integrative relational psychotherapy. Mindfulness and compassion-oriented integrative psychotherapy is based on research-supported processes of change related to the main dimensions of human experience. In this approach, mindfulness and compassion are understood as meta-processes of change that we use in the context of a tuned therapeutic relationship that enables renewal and growth. The authors integrate integrative relational psychotherapy with mindfulness and compassion processes, polyvagal theory, and the process of memory reconsolidation. They also provide an exciting insight into intersubjective physiology and the interconnectedness between the client’s and the therapist’s autonomic nervous system.

Avsec, Andreja (Associate Editor 2013-), Bucik, Valentin (Member of Editorial Board 2013-), Pečjak, Sonja (Member of Editorial Board 2013-), Podlesek, Anja (Associate Editor 2013-) In 2021, a special issue of the journal on cognitive training was published (http://psiholoska-obzorja.si/?l=2021), which includes 11 articles (three are based on the findings of the research program). Anja Podlesek was the guest (co)editor of this special issue. The papers present studies that have examined the usefulness and effectiveness of different types of cognitive training at different developmental stages and in different populations: in groups of active seniors, older adults, elementary school students, high school students, university students; in normative students, gifted, and those with intellectual disabilities.

COBISS.SI-ID: 271603200This edited scientific book contains studies [COBISS.SI-ID 43900163, 43844099, 43844355, 43919107, 45435139, 45349379] conducted by research program members during the first wave of the COVID-19 epidemic on psychological response in different groups (including changes in cognition and psychological well-being) and its factors. These studies are among the first published scientific psychological studies on how the Slovenes experienced and responded to the epidemic. The results provide an important basis for designing measures during an epidemic.
