P1-0011 — Interim report
1.
Seismotectonic parameterization of active faults in Slovenia

We created a database of active faults and seismic sources in Slovenia. Each fault was seismotectonically parameterized and its seismic potential was estimated. The work is a synthesis of an extensive critical review of the available data and a number of previous studies also carried out by members of the program group. The database forms the input data for the seismic hazard calculation. Based on this work, a new Seismic Hazard Map of Slovenia was prepared at ARSO, which will influence regulations on earthquake-resistant construction, spatial planning and earthquake awareness. The results were presented in conference articles, in the media and on social networks.

Upgrade of National Landslide Warning System in the case of increased probability of landslide occurrence – MASPREM 4

Since 2011, members of the programme group have participated in the development and maintenance of the National Landslide Warning System (MASPREM). In 2011, GeoZS established a service to inform the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for civil protection and Disaster Relief Administration and the public in the case of an increased probability of landslide occurrence and to activate field interventions. The increased probability of landslide occurrence is released based on the forecast of the MASPREM system, field expertise and the meteorological and hydrological forecast of Slovenian Environmental Agency.

Detailed geological-geotechnical and hydrogeological characterization of large landslides in the hinterland of the settlement Koroška Bela for the needs of making stability analyzes and feasibility study of remediation solutions.

The result is represented by project cover report. The project finannced by Ministry of environment and spatial plannning was focused into extensive geological-geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations of five large landslides in the hinterland of Koroška Bela settlement in Karavanke Mts. In the frame of this activity, corrective measures have been proposed to mitigate the risk for the formation of debris flow that represents the direct threat to the community.

Conodonts of Slovenia

The book is a fundamental scientific work in the field of paleontology and biostratigraphy in Slovenia. It provides a comprehensive overview defining geotectonically, paleogeographically and lithostratigraphically all studied strata with conodonts in Slovenia, which is an important tool for geologists in relative dating of Paleozoic and Triassic strata of all so far known strata with conodonts from Slovenia. The book contains a catalog overview of the conodont species of Slovenia and a completely new and improved zonation of the conodont assemblages defined in Slovenia, which is an important contribution to the modern study of conodonts in the world. The book is useful both in many geological investigations and as study material. It is written in Slovenian and English.

9/19D-T1 geological-geotechnical study with synthesis of all investigations for T1 tunnel: the second track of the Divača-Koper railway line

Extensive study with a synthesis of all research for the second track of the Divača-Koper railway line. PS Members prepared a structural geological forecast. Structural geology is the basis for forecasting geological conditions in the construction of a railway line. All other research is related to this forecast and on its basis conclusions are drawn, on the basis of which the facilities on the line are then designed and the costs of the construction works are predicted.
