The immobilization of compounds from heavy polluted wastewater into geotechnical composite

This study presents a promising approach for solving the problem of heavily polluted leachate from landfills whilst simultaneously allowing for the recycling and treatment of industrial waste material in new low grade geotechnical composites. The objectives of the study was to understand the mechanism taking place during the immobilization process and obtain the optimum mixtures from an environmental and technical point of view.

Recycling of waste industrial gypsum in different cement composites

Cement composites containing red titano-gypsum and various industrial wastes were presented. Mechanisms and kinetics of the hydration process were studied, the formed mineral phases were identified, chemical and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated.
