COBISS.SI-ID: 512931128Electroporation has been an established tool for DNA delivery into prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells thus facilitating basic research studies and improving medical treatments. Here we describe its use for introduction of phage genome in Escherichia coli cells, including preparation of electro-competent cells, electric pulses optimization and recovery of electro-transformed cells. The technique enabels preparatin of genetically modified bacteriophages and enables work with bacteriophage genoms )140kbp.
