Effect of building direction on properties of additive manufactured maraging steel parts

In the invited lecture, given on one of the more important international conferences on additive manufacturing effect of building direction on properties and tribological performance of 3D printed metallic parts was presented. Results are important for practical use of printed parts, especially for automotive industry.

Determination and importance of fracture toughness in improving forming tool performance

Within research work new method for overall comprehensive determination of tool steel properties, including fracture toughness was developed, which gained international recognition and was presented at different conferences and universities arround the world. In Slovenia, method was awarded with gold and bronze award of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS).

Effect of shot penning process on gear fatigue strength

Investigation was focused on the effect of parameters and optimization of shot penning when combined with different thermo-chemical treatments of gears, allowing improvement in components performance. Results are important for all dynamically loaded components, typically found in automotive industry. Results are basis for the improvement of gear production process.

Methods for the determination and identification of influencing parameters in forming of thin Al sheets

Investigation on of the effect of different parameters on formability of Al sheets included also the development of validation methods, allowing in-depth investigation of different influencing parameters and properties of Al sheets, as well as measurement uncertainty. Methods were presented, adopted and implemented in the company producing and forming Al.
