L2-8179 — Final report
1.
Method of increasing the hydrophilicity of a surface of an object of polymer containing fluorine atoms

This patent application which was submitted to the British patent office in summer 2019 is the most important economic deliverable of the project. We developed a two-stage method, which enables hydrophilization of Teflon or similar materials. Such materials cannot be made highly wettable using classical plasma techniques.

3.
Industrial applications of oxygen plasmas

The project leader was a plenary speaker at the conference 10th International Conference on Plasma Science and Applications, ICPSA 2017. He explained mechanisms of polymer etching and functionalization, which are leading to nanostructuring and optimal wettability.
