Genes for biosynthesis of tetracycline compounds and uses thereof

In the scope of this patent, we have identified new gene cluster encoding biosynthesis a tetracycline antibiotic and apply this genes and knowledge to generate no tetracycline derivatives or TC derivatives, which will be developed in the scope of this ARRS project.

Biosynthetic engineering for the development of atypical tetracycline antibiotics

Published summary of the scientific paper at the conference (invited lecture) at the European Congress FEMS (Glasgow, Scotland) in 2019. Prof. Petković presented in the invited lecture the results related to the development of new chelocardin derivatives. Selected chelocardin derivatives have been developed within the scope of this ARRS project.

New antibiotics, Ljubljana Television Slovenia

Project leader gave interview on the TV program of national TV Slovenija. The program was discusing about new antibiotics and how they are developed. Avtor also described efforts of his research group, the approaches which are also used in the scope of this ARRS funded project.
