Bacterial adhesion and food safety

Bacterial contamination on food contact surfaces is usually the reason for foodborne outbrakes. In our study we consider bacterial adhesion of different bacterial species on food contact materials. Material and bacterial surfaces were characterized. The bacterial adhesion rate was determined by staining method and scanning electron microscopy. The experimental results can be linked to the food safety issues and quality of the food item.

The effects of the LG Sonic technology on toxin degradation and on the environment (without algae)

LG Sonic produces ultrasonic units for inhibiting algae growth in ponds and biofilms in industrial plants, ships, etc. In our study their newly developed ultrasound unit was tested for environmental impacts. We have shown that their unit for phytoplankton inhibition does not have a negative impact on the development of zooplankton. Our results will be used by LG Sound directly in practice.
