In December 2016 I was invited as a guest lecturer at the scientific meeting »Extracellular vesicles - role in pathogenesis and clinical potential«, which was organized as the closure of the project J3-5499 (ARRS). At this meeting I presented my current data detecting levels of viral protein Nef (Nef-ELISA) and TAR RNA (PCR) in HIV-1 infected patients to identify and evaluate the residual active HIV reservoirs. Both tested biomarkers (Nef and TRA RNA) were detected in half or more of aviremic HIV-infected patients.
