Abstract
Cationic lipid-DNA complex will be studied by vibrational and NMR spectroscopy and theoretical calculations on model compounds. The investigation will include variation in the type of cationic amphiphiles (different polar head groups) mixed with helper lipid, DNA mimics and DNA molecules. The spectroscopic studies will focuse on both structural changes (mainly changes in the conformation of polar head groups) and changes in mobility of amphiphilic molecules due to complex formation with DNA and DNA mimics.
