Modulacija med- in znotrajmembranske sklopitve lipidnih dvoslojev preko vodne faze (Slovene)

Results of our work based on the joint expertise of the Prof. Pabst and Prof. Podgornik research groups, are interesting in all areas of macromolecular packing with constrained and unconstrained equilibrium conditions, i.e. with and without the externally imposed osmotic pressure. Effects of ions and their specificity have been systematically explored in the case of polyelectrolyte condensation, e.g. in the case of DNA condensation, but have not echoed into the field of membrane interactions, which is the state of affairs we started to changed. Further, the present proposal also forms the base for future projects on the physiological role of ions and membrane domains, in particular with respect to the development of membrane active drugs.

The Postdoctoral fellows have been offered a top-notch scientific environment within a group of international renowned researchers. They were educated in an interdisciplinary and international environment and had regular exchange with external collaborators. Thus, the postdoctoral students received invaluable training to build up their scientific career in a highly competitive network of researchers.
