European Neo-nomadism - Zasledovanje sanj, soočanje z realnostmi: evropski neo-nomadizem v Sahari, na obalah Atlantika in Mediteran (Slovene)

The project European Neo-nomadism offered new scientific insights on three important dimensions of contemporary cultural dynamics in a globalizing world: why and how mobile subjects leave Europe or move on its margins; the cultural, political and economic transformations and dimensions underpinning these mobilities; and the interaction between subjects of different nationalities, culture, backgrounds and mobility practices. The project shed light on these dimensions from the perspective of European neo-nomads in Western Africa and Mediterranean, as well as through the perspective of socially and economically marginalized Moroccans in a transnational space between Northern Morocco and Spain. The project contributed to the evolution of current theorizing on marginal mobilities and neo-nomadism and their multi-facetted and multi-stepped nature.

The Project answers the question why increasing numbers of Europeans, and thus Slovenians too, are leaving Europe or moving towards its margins. Evaluation of its results could contribute to better social and economic politics in Slovenia’s future.
