Significance for science
UM-FERI has included the activities undertaken in this project in the educational process. Students have carried out the thesis that they were encouraged by the activities of this issue. The diploma work titled "Single-stage DC-AC converter solar systems, « was finished and concluded. Following this theme we have in 2010-2011 imply a new diploma proposal, which will be considered the converter connection with a grid. According to the scientific and research contributions performed here, we can say that we develop knowledge and methods that have been directed to develop new products. Special emphasis was given to dimensioning power components of multiphase DC-DC converter to achieve the minimum possible volume of the maximum possible energy transfer through the converter. This year, we signed up to the call for young researchers and doctoral scholarship was obtained for one candidate. Currently this young researcher applies also for Fulbright scholarship in year 2013-14, and he was granted. He is already a visiting scholar in Virginiatech USA.
Significance for the country
The applicant and project partners TECES, (technological center for electrical machines (http://www.teces.si) combines world-class Slovenian companies and research institutions in the area of electric drives in order to accumulate and transfer the specific skills within the R & D
infrastructure among the founders (the founders belong TECES are also UM-FERI and Iskra Avtoelektrika). Existing solutions and knowledge acquired are suitable for transfer into industrial applications; it provides excellent opportunities for rapid development of industrial products, which are the subject of industrial production of the industrial partner. In coordination meetings between the project participants have also created new ideas for using the skills of multi-phase structures and the opinion of Iskra Avtoelektrika is indicated in their assessment of the performed work. The new developed knowledge and proposed solutions show the usability of the obtained results in industrial applications and open the possibility for development of different products for many domestic companies.
