Efektivne teorije polja za LHC (Slovene)

The work done in the project has advanced the science in three subareas of research, the flavor physics, dark matter searches and LHC phenomenology. In all three areas the research done is at the world scientific frontier and has improved the global knowledge of the three subjects. For instance, we have introduced the general description of minimal flavor violations. This work represents an important step forward in understanding the origin of flavor as it will allow at least in principle to experimentally distinguish between flavor generated at high and low scales. We have also contributed to the quest for new physics by introducing model independent discriminators in higgs production at the LHC that can distinguish between light and heavy degrees of freedom without the detailed knowledge of the new sector. We have also made a series of contributions to the phenomenology of dark matter searches.

The research done is at the world frontier of the research in LHC physics and dark matter physics. From this there are obvious benefits to the scientific colleagues, students and the general public in Slovenia. For instance, as part of the project we have brought a series of prominent researchers to Slovenia to give weekly seminars at Josef Stefan Institute and Department of Physics of University of Ljubljana. The research performed and the accompanying activities keep Slovenia in stride with the theoretical developments that are and will follow from the largest experimental effort of the mankind - the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland.
