Abstract
With the ever increasing number of multimedia units for application at different levels of education, a specific problem occurs, i. e. how to assess those products which are usually not reviewed and supported by suitable teacher and student manuals. Therefore the basic goal of this project is to define and test a set of criteria for the evaluation of multimedia products. These criteria should on the one hand serve the producers in developing the methodological design of educational MM applications, and on the other, give guidelines to the practitioners as support for their decisions in selecting MM products for classroom use.
