Abstract
The main purpose of the program for the Archaeological Heritage of Slovenia is the continual completion of the scientific infrastructure in the field of archaeology. Its core consists of database compilations that provide a systematic collection and organisation of the material and thus compose the basis for further research and protection of our archaeological heritage. These basic database compilations are multi-user oriented and require continual enrichment and supplementation with regard to the demands and needs in the field of archaeology. As an integral element, they must also proceed in course with new discoveries and developmental trends in the field of archaeology if they are to serve as effective tools.
