Abstract
The objective of this study would be an analysis of renal anemia in chronic dialysis patients. We want to find out in which percentage is needed the treatment with iron and epoetin, to investigate whether patients on peritoneal dialysis need lower dosage of iron and epoetin at the beginning of the treatment in respect to later period and in respect to hemodialysis patients, if the newer application of epoetin with pen is more suitable than in syringes, and what are the possible influences on anemia and its treatment (secondary hyperparathyroidism, inflammation states, drugs: some vitamins, ACE inhibitors, aluminium phosphate binders etc). It would also be of interest whether one weekly dosage of epoetin would be as effective as devided in two or three weekly doses. The side effects of iron and epoetin treatment will aso be checked.
