Abstract
The proposed project includes pre-clinical and clinical study of effects of laser irradiation with different wavelengths to ocular and periocular tissues. The research is based on physical background and study of mechanisms of interaction of laser irradiation with biological tissues. The purpose of the clinical study is to observe short and long term effects and to form parameters for clinical application of laser systems in the following fields: glaucoma, vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery, vascular lesions and skin resurfacing. We intend to use laser systems with different wavelength: 2940 (Er:YAG), 1064 nm (Nd:YAG), 532 nm (KTP Nd:YAG).
